About the Author
Jeff Kirby serves on the Adult Discipleship Team at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Among other duties, he leads men's ministries and the Alpha program, for which he is a national trainer. With COR since 2001, Jeff is a national and international educator and speaker, as well as a consultant on leadership development. His Bible study courses at Resurrection often bring in 500+ participants, who come to hear Jeff’s rich and challenging style of teaching.

A "must" read book

I am extremely excited about Jeff Kirby's book. It is backed up with a life of servant leadership to His Lord and church. I have taken a number of Bible classes from Jeff at Church of the Resurrection in Lenexa, Kansas and am currently in a class on Hebrews. He is the best teacher of the Word I have ever sat under and I would recommend this new book very highly based on the life and teachings of this gifted man of God.

What does is really mean to be an apprentice of Jesus?

A short book that takes us back (to Palestine) to the basics. By exegeting passages of Scripture (a fancy way of saying he relays the story and then offers the deeper meaning using context and cultural understanding) and the author’s own experiences as a pastor, he equips the reader to develop a deeper relationship. And as better-equipped students, we can help in the discipling of others as well.
