Timeless and Practical

I love to read the Puritans but have not read much of Richard Baxter until now. This book is still on my nightstand and I have about two more chapters to go. I must say that I'm really enjoying Baxter's style. This is straightforward, challenging, convicting, and at times exhilarating! I'm sure that if you follow Baxter's advice in this book, it will change your life; in fact, that was his intention when he wrote it. This book is worth every minute you will spend reading it. I'm going to keep it with a few others that I read again and again. It's really that good.

Please read the unabridged version by Reformation Heritage books.This sacred work should never have been abridged in the first place.I read it in the hospital while having cancer surgery and it changed my life.

Give yourselves to exhortation. If everyone walked with the mindset Baxter here displays, what a world we would have. This man was gifted. God used him to turn around an entire city that walked in godliness throughout his ministry.
